Morning Worship
« on: April 28, 2007, 03:33:51 PM »

Today was pretty normal Sunday. I got up and went to the early service, played on the Worship Team, went home and picked up my family so we all could attend the later service together. It was during worship at the 2nd service that things went awry. The second song we sang was new to us. It's called "The Stand" by Hillsong United. The lyrics are as follows:

You stood before creation
Forever within Your hand
You spoke all life into motion
My soul now to stand

You stood before my failure
Carried the Cross for my shame
My sin went upon Your shoulders
My soul now to stand

So what can I say
What can I do
But offer this heart O God
Completely to You

I walk upon salvation
The Spirit of light in me
My soul to declare Your promise
My life in Your hands

So I'll stand
With arms high and heart abandoned
In awe of the One who gave it all

So I'll stand
My soul Lord to You surrendered
All I am is Yours

When we got to "You stood before my failure / Carried the Cross for my shame" I got choked up. I couldn't any more. I tried. Before I knew it tears were coming from my eyes. I could only close my eyes and raise a hand while the congregation continued to .

It really hit me hard what Christ did for us. Taking my failures, my sin, my shame, long before I was born, and nailed them to a tree. He let them hang there in agony for at least 3 hours. He took those things to the grave with him. But 3 days later He rose from the dead. He came out of the grave alive once again.

But my sin. My failures. My shame. Remain buried to this day.

And yours are buried too.

AAaameen! You know I miss that kind of Worship in church. We haven't had it at all out here.
Thats what is was back home. I think my wife and I are going to have to start our own worship here at home again.
Jesus has done sooo much for us, I can't stand not worshipping Him like that here.
Thank you man, You don't know how much I needed to here that.
God bless you.

HoWdY!!

Amen and AMEN!!

Something like that happened to me a while back too!

We were in quiet time in the service at church and someone started The Lord's Prayer. I started too as well as the rest of the congregation. Then I just let the vocal chords out!
Somehow the song just flowed out of me and then I started speaking in tongues! WOW!! What a rush! I was quaking! Just trembling so hard I had to hold onto the chairs in front of me because I could barely stand! Those are very special times when The Spirit takes over and moves your soul into praise! The presence of God was so strong and powerful!
Praise God! I'm getting a rush remembering it! Goosebumps on the arms and all! WOW!!

Isn't God wonderful!?!
